Ruralpolitans Make The Mainstream!

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

It is difficult for me not to say, "I told you so!" The Tee Vee stars in the clip even mention telecommuting, of which I am a big fan and is the reason I am able to live in Lake Placid.
Enjoy this video and let me know if you want to know anything about free-range chickens, because I have a fair amount of experience running away from mean roosters. Or we can chat about how I can help you become a ruralpolitan, which is my specialty because I am a Lifestyle Change Agent as well as a Real Estate Agent. Feel free to visit my website to learn more about me and my expertise.

A Special Adirondack Message For Readers In The Financial Industry

As I mentioned in this blog last month, I am intrigued by the recent Ruralpolitan trend as described by one of my favorite Wall St. Journal columnists, Gwendolyn Bounds. Ms. Bounds refers to the increase in rural property purchases by young families and singles interested in fleeing the rat race and developing a more self-sufficient lifestyle. I call it making a "lifestyle decision" and I can relate to the idea since this is exactly what my husband and I did 22 years ago. It was one of the best decisions of my life.
I am now in the business of helping other people make the same move, whether in one big full-time leap, as some of my clients from Boston did last month, or in a more gradual, part-time fashion.
There is a rumor out there that some folks in the financial service industry might have a few dollars of bonus money to invest this time of year. As you might imagine, I believe real estate is one of the best investment vehicles available. So, if you have a bonus check burning a hole in your briefcase, I humbly suggest you consider an investment in Adirondack real estate. It is a great investment that retains value; Adirondack property has not suffered the massive decline in value seen in other parts of the country, and you can have a ton of fun playing and being self-sufficient as a full or part-time Adirondacker. Take it from me, it is great fun!
If you would like to learn more about the great property available throughout the Adirondacks, from vacant land to Adirondack Great Camps, please contact me. I am an experienced buyer's agent and enjoy helping people figure out how to own a piece of the Adirondacks. According to my latest relocation clients on the topic of my assistance, "From the beginning, she (Joann) totally “got” what we were trying to accomplish. She relocated to the Adirondacks years ago for many of the same reasons that Dave and I wanted to. She was a natural fit to guide us through this process and help us realize our dream."

So, to all my readers in the financial services industry - give me a shout. I know you are out there and thanks for reading!
