Potential Danger in Adirondack Lifestyle Cited

It is a well known secret that living in the Adirondacks can be dangerous to one's workaholic tendencies. I was reminded of this while reading today's article in the New York Times, "Outdoors and out of Reach, Studying the Brain." The author describes a scientific outdoor experience during which five neuroscientists disconnect and go into the wild for a week. As you might imagine, this story piqued my interest because of my own ongoing scientific study in the benefits of outdoor recreation based on the Adirondack Lifestyle Wellness Theory (ALWT).
The article reminded me, once again, how valuable an outdoor lifestyle is for people. I think the benefits of disconnecting are clear as well. And we all know it is easy to disconnect in the Adirondacks. Sometimes annoyingly so, especially for a geek like me. This is why the Adirondacks are a perfect place for an over-achiever who likes a challenge. Be advised: only the bold take advantage of our remote location and incredible natural beauty to risk losing their workaholic tendencies and fractured focus to the Adirondack Lifestyle.
