Adirondack Ticket to Ride

Cyclists lucky enough to be in the Adirondacks this week are enjoying superb biking weather. A freak late May heat wave has delivered record-breaking high temperatures throughout the Adirondacks the past few days. It was 92 degrees here in Lake Placid yesterday. This is almost as nice as a 15-degree-day on skis! As evidence of Mother Nature's love of good planning (she's a she), these same high temps quickly warm up the lakes enough for a refreshing swim. Synchronicity at its finest. Take it from an expert in recreational sciences, a swim in Mirror Lake, or any Adirondack lake for that matter, is a perfect way to top off a nice, long bike ride through the Adirondacks.
Clearly, others agree with me as action is picking up around the Village as athletes and outdoor enthusiasts head to the Adirondacks for fun and training. The sun is out and life is good. Once can see why Lake Placid was chosen as America's best outdoor town.
