Yes Virgina......

It snowed all day yesterday here in the Adirondacks and it truly feels like a Winter Wonderland, or like where Santa Claus might live. Yes Virgina, he does live in the Adirondacks, in North Pole, NY. He lives at Santa's Workshop, North Pole, NY 12997. (You really have to go to the Santa's Workshop link. Their site is my favorite site of the day. Make sure you have the sound on when you mouse over the links. So great.)
Anyway, Santa's Workshop is the oldest theme park in America. It opened in 1949 and is a classic. If you have an imagination and kids, or can borrow some kids, it is worth a trip. As one can picture, it is a complete town where Santa and the crew live and work, making toys mostly. It is located about 3/4 of the way up the Whiteface toll road, the Whiteface Memorial Highway, before it becomes a toll road, in Wilmington. There are live reindeer, the "Candy Cane Express" train ride, elves and snow people walking around, and a chance to sit on Santa's lap. It can get pretty sweet with all the singing, etc., hokey at its best, but kids love it. Adults with the right mindset can enjoy it too. As a matter of fact, Martha Stewart is "borrowing" Donner and Blitzen for alive appearance on her show, The Martha Stewart Show," this Tuesday.

"Santa’s Workshop Park Operations Manager Matt Stanley will help transport the reindeer to the city and may even appear on the show himself.

“We don’t know exactly how Martha wants to use the deer yet,” Stanley said, adding that he has been asked whether or not he could possibly lead the deer on-stage."

Let's hope it's not in venison stew!
