Huge News in the Adirondacks!

I thought the loyal, and not so loyal, readers of my blog should be among the first to know the Reed family homestead in Lake Placid is now officially for sale. This is one of those bitter sweet moments they talk about. I am sad to be leaving this spot since it is so nice and living here has given us so much pleasure over the last 21 years. I am excited though, about starting the next chapter at a new place. We purchased this home primarily for its location; on a little more than two acres of mostly wooded land just outside the Village of Lake Placid on NY State Route 73, or Cascade Road. We are bordered by Forever Wild New York State land so have great privacy. If you've read my blog much you'll recall there are ski/hiking trails on our land that connect to the Jackrabbit Ski Trail and Pitchoff ice climbing routes. I chose a snow photo of the house for today's image since snow season is my favorite time in the Adirondacks. I must admit, the other three seasons are great too. We are on the Ironman bike course, so naturally the road cycling is perfect, as is the mountain biking. The house itself has a nice feel to it; my friend Ray said we "have a warm home." Of course, Ray was sitting next to the wood stove at the time. Here are the first batch of photos of the house. I still have additional views to post, so check back occasionally. You can get an idea of the neighborhood if you peruse my other albums as well. Drop me an email if you'd like to learn more about the property.
Oh, yes, the huge news in the Adirondacks is I just got back from a trail run at Mount Van Hoevenberg and the wild blueberries are ripe! Yum.
