Adirondack Quality

So much about the choice to live in the Adirondacks revolves around the word, "quality." I talk about "quality of life" a great deal when people ask me why we moved to Lake Placid 21 years ago. A few months ago, I referenced a ranking published by MSN that placed Lake Placid number one in a list of America's Best Outdoor Towns. This is the kind of external acknowledgment that validates making a decision based on "quality." Some of us don't need external validation to live in this Adirondack paradise, but it is kind of nice to see! I am on this "quality" thread today since I recently ran into a friend and business colleague of mine who owns the construction and land development company, North Country Properties. He moved here a few years ago in order to pursue his dream of living the good life in the Adirondacks and creating properties that reflect his interest, or obsession, with quality. North Country Properties is the developer of a beautifully and environmentally designed new housing development in Lake Placid, Pine Brook Farm. There are 14 vacant lots available with incredible views of Whiteface, Mt. Marcy, the highest peak in New York Sate, and Algonquin. A pedestrian easement winds throughout the property and connects with the John Brown Farm trails. A majority of the field area is classified Historic Preservation and will remain as is, with no buildings of any sort ever built. North Country Properties and the homes built by the owner and his crew are tangible reflections of Adirondack Quality, which leads to an excellent quality of life!
