Great Wrap for Adirondack Fall 2008 - Big Snow!

The last day of Fall 2008 in the Adirondacks finds us skiing on 10 inches of fresh powder! We are ushering in Winter 2008/2009 in style as yesterday's snow storm and cold temperatures have created a winter wonderland. The folks at the Olympic ski trails at Mount Van Hoevenberg cross-country ski area were hard at work early this morning, grooming the trails to perfect condition. At Whiteface, they received 20 inches of powder!! More snow is on the way tonight and tomorrow just in time for the Winter Solstice.
Today's featured photo was taken earlier this fall from a home in one of Lake Placid's nicest spots for views; Pinebrook Farm. As you can see, Fall in the Adirondacks can be breathtakingly beautiful, especially when the snow falls while the leaves are changing but still on the trees. Pinebrook is owned by North Country Properties, a building and development company just outside the Village of Lake Placid. One of the many things I like about Pinebrook is that you can have those incredible views of the Adirondack High Peaks, own very private acreage, but remain within waking distance of the Village of Lake Placid. Pinebrook also features hiking/walking and cross-country ski trails, free and open to the public. You can't beat that for having an Adirondack outdoor experience so close to fine dining and entertainment!
