Music in the Mountains

One of my favorite bands and certainly "one of the finest bands in Celtic traditional music," (NY Times) is coming to Lake Placid this Friday. The Boys of the Lough will play at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts this Friday evening at 8:00 p.m. The first of the full-time professional traditional Celtic ensembles to arise on the international scene, celebrating 40 years as band, over 64 North American tours, 20 recordings and two Grammy nominations, Boys of the Lough has reached legendary status. The Boys have established a reputation for technical brilliance and integrity combined with a ready wit and sense of fun. The music ranges widely through traditional melodies of Ireland and encompasses fiddle music of Shetland, Scotland and North America. They put on a great show and it is an incredible experience to see and hear them perform live. It should be a great show!
