Ripped off!

After all the hub-bub about a huge winter storm, there is barely one inch of new snow here in Lake Placid. This happens fairly frequently; winter storm warnings are posted and I super efficiently prepare for the power outage, and we are robbed! Ok, seriously, I have no grounds for whining, there is plenty of snow on the ground for skiing. And it is snowing pretty hard out right now; the forecast says we could still get six inches or more as the storm progresses. I just wanted to wake up to a huge blanket of freshies - I had put in a request for 12+.
Speaking of whining, I had the pleasure of skiing to Marcy Dam yesterday. The truck trail is in great shape; there is full coverage the entire way to the dam. Conditions were nice and fast - we enjoyed a very fast ski out! A pile of new snow or not - I am extremely grateful for such awesome early-season conditions. Whiteface is phenomenal too.
