Adirondacks In the Top Ten

I thought I'd share a news flash with my regular blog readers; the Adirondacks are one of the best places in the United States to visit and have fun. Once again, a lot of us know that already, but is cool to see these articles. National Geographic, in its April/May issue, lists the Adirondacks as one of the Top Ten Adventure locations in the United States. The specific article about Adirondacks is beautiful. "The uniquely American notion of wilderness protection took root in these black-water streams and humpbacked mountains in the 19th century, when New York State set aside large swaths of the Adirondacks as "forever wild." Nice.
Representing another perspective is USA Today's recent article listing the Adirondacks as one of the 10 Great Places on Earth You Don't Want To Miss. Number three to be exact. Not only that, but the travel expert who was consulted on the article is also the author of the new Frommer's 500 Places to See Before They Disappear. Wow. The only disappointing aspect of their article is that USA Today did not provide an accompanying cartoon graphic explaining something. Between these accolades and the Wall St. Journal and the NY Times and MSN's Best Outdoor Towns, (Lake Placid is #1), I'm worrying about my job security at this blog!
