The Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks, its other moniker, is the result of a great deal of hard work from many people. The article is a good one; it provides succinct background information about the Adirondacks and also mentions the efforts of Betsy Lowe, who worked hard on this project for many years. The author seems to get it and sums up the odd nature of the Adirondack Park nicely:
