Diversions for a Rainy Day in the Adirondacks

I woke this morning to thunder and lightening and a cowering resident lab. That is something I have never figured out; despite suffering no ill effects after nine years of thunder storms, he still flips out, shadows me around or hides under my desk each time a storm moves through. Silly dog. In any case, this is the perfect time to write about one of my favorite indoor Adirondack activities, yoga. Although yoga isn't indigenous to the Adirondacks, it is a great companion activity for the skiing, running, cycling, paddling, weight lifting and other fun things we do here in the Adirondacks. It is true, however, that in and of itself, yoga is a wonderful and healthy practice. One of my favorite places do practice yoga in the Adirondacks is at Innerquest Yoga, in Saranac Lake, New York. The owner of Innerquest, Mary Bartel, featured in today's photo, is a certified Structural Yoga Therapist and has helped me immensely over the years and through injuries. I like the idea of actively managing an injury and healing it without drugs. It is raining here in Lake Placid. Time for yoga!
