If you live in the Adirondacks, you are familiar with the Adirondack guest house phenomenon. Friends of your child show up and need a place to stay while they hike all 46 Adirondack peaks, for example. Or a long lost cousin calls and says, "I'm in Lake Clear, don't you guys live near there?" Most of us are genuinely happy to have friends and family visit.
