Lake Placid Weather Junkie

An unavoidable part of living in the Adirondacks is you have to pay attention to the weather. Close attention. For my part, that is also a very enjoyable part of this Adirondack Lifestyle. I am a geeky and unashamed weather junkie. I don't recall when it started, but ever since I was a little girl I was intrigued by the weather and its changes. From standing on the beach watching a storm swirl out over the ocean as it roars closer to shore to watching a tornado on the plains from a high-rise in Denver, I am into weather. The more intense and wild, the better. Nowadays, I check at least four weather web sites on a daily basis. Which brings me to today. It just started snowing here. Weather Underground says we are supposed to get 3 to 6 inches of the white stuff. I love Accuweather today because they are calling for 10.7 inches of snow! As you can see, I just keep checking the weather sites until I hear what I want to hear and that site becomes my favorite. On days like this, my husband has another name for me and it is not weather junkie.

I go here and using the radar loops that are at the bottom, click in the radar and you can get northeast, national etc. try it. Like last night I saw that there was little moisture left at 5pm and figured we'd get just what we got.

Thanks for the great weather link and idea! Yep, once again I woke up saying, "We was robbed!" when I saw barely a skiff of new snow. Expectations will get ya every time.
