The Adirondack Lifestyle on a Stormy Day

Living in the Adirondacks requires one to know when to do, and when to respect nature, hunker down, and ride it out. Today is a day for the latter approach to life. As expected, a warm front racing across the Adirondacks is creating 55-plus-mph winds and driving sleet. The trees who survived last week's wind pummeling seem to be hanging on for dear life, bending and flexing their top branches and torsos as much as 90 degrees in deference to the wind.
A cup of tea, warm fire, and a book or project are in order on Adirondack days like this. There is no reason to try and fight the storm seeking to ski or hike, or even run errands. It is a good time to take a page from the resident gnome's book and live in harmony with nature: stay tucked inside, cozy and warm.

Jess clearly did not read this before dragging me along on a slop filled death march today.

LOL! Yay Jess.
While her exuberance is endearing, I'm betting she'll mellow on this topic very soon.

Stop talking about me like I can't hear you! ;)

Just for the record, it was a 2 mile jaunt through Henry's Woods. Hardly a death march.

If I don't mellow, I'm blaming you, Joann. This skiing business is all sorts of fun.

Oh, and I'm also blaming you for the rice pudding that is simmering on the stove right now. LOL. It sounded so good after you mentioned it the other day. But, hey, I earned it after that death march today.

Oh that's right she, I mean you, can hear us Jess!
I don't mind getting blamed for both - exuberance is great and so is rice pudding!
And by the way, Dave don't know death march....
