Weather Watching Time in Lake Placid!

It has been too long since I've indulged my passion to discuss the weather, but now I have the perfect excuse to blabber on about temperatures and snow. Yes, snow. Check out this wonderful forecast for the coming week in Lake Placid and the Adirondack Region. Isn't it great to look down the line of Weather Underground icons and see all those little pictures of snow flakes?!! It is pretty nifty to have the Weather Underground icons customized in the "Cartoon" style so the snowflakes appear hand drawn. In any case, the predicted snowy and cold winter of 2009-2010 appears to be getting started already. We could have measurable snow this week. In other words, we could be skiing in mid-October....yes, this week!! The cold front blew through yesterday midday, whipping the leaves in little cyclones around the yard and pushing the clouds out to reveal a sparkling but chilly Adirondack blue sky. Snow is in the air - get out the ski wax!!
