First cross-country ski tracks of the year in Lake Placid

We received about nine inches of snow in the last 48 hours. Cross-country skiing is available in and around Lake Placid now, although the maintained areas are not technically open. The Olympic cross-country ski trails at Mt. Van Hoevenberg aren't open, but I heard some of the trails are rolled. The clouds have lifted and it is gorgeous out. The views from the village of Lake Placid are stunning. Here's a photo album of today's views.
